Each family office is developed to best support the governing family. Jessica and Steve Sarowitz set up the office to support their personal, philanthropic, investment, and business daily needs. 4S Bay is made up of three main departments encompassing Lifestyle, Investment, and Operations.

Lifestyle Department
4S Bay is primarily a family centered office. Thirteen employees in the Lifestyle department supporting private real estate with household staff oversight and life management. The activities vary daily. Personal philanthropy also falls into the Lifestyle department demonstrating a strong commitment to charitable giving as the core of the family mission.
Investment Department
The Investment department of eight employees manages the 4S Bay portfolio. The team ensures the alignment of interest between family mission and curated investments. The family and Investment department drafted an Investment Policy Statement together which guides the team in strategic areas of investment and the weight of these investments to be considered in the overall portfolio.

The 4S Bay core mission is expanded in this Investment Policy Statement to specify direct investments in, or extending loans to, women and BIPOC, or minority, owned businesses and funds. Choosing to provide this funding to entrepreneurs who found doors closed to them in the past is central to the department investment thesis. By formalizing this investment thesis in its Policy Statement, the department works to support this thesis by ensuring the consolidation of risk, performance management, and reporting among its investments and partners.
The department functions liberally in its ability to draw from a wide range of investment vehicles and at the same time is responsive to the investment directions of the 4S Bay Managing Partner. Trust is ultimately ensured. This positive, unique value is immediately recognized for the family by the team working to realize significant monetary returns, improve control of processes and provide counsel on risk and control management to improve performance. The team is at the family’s disposal and nimble to react to market and trends. The use of analytics to optimize the portfolio risk and improve decision-making is key to proving the department’s investment successes and relationship with the family.

Operations
Generally serving as the back office, the seventeen-member Operations department provides structured governance and management oversight to 4S Bay. This back-office function takes into consideration complexities of the many transactions, steering the family away from future conflicts and complications. At the same time, the department ensures confidentiality of the family office structure, as human resources, legal, risk management, finance, real estate development, and IT each play a role in supporting the Lifestyle and Investment departments.
Entrepreneurship is also central to the Sarowitz family having started a successful payroll and human resource information system software company. The Operations team supports each new business relationship and venture of Jessica and/or Steve Sarowitz with full operational support.
All 4S Bay departments are aligned to support the mission of the Sarowitz Family.
