Have you ever wondered what goes into making a successful event? It’s not as simple as it seems. The Lifestyle Team works to ensure that our events align with 4S Bay’s values, which we achieve by being intentional, inclusive, and sustainable. Every detail is related to our company goals and mission.

Inclusivity
All event elements, from the venue to the menu, bear in mind the impact it will have on attendees. For example, at summer outings, we make sure to include a range of activities so that everyone has something that they can enjoy. At last year’s event, guests had options to participate in physical activities such as pickleball and golf, or more artistic options like karaoke and coloring. This way, no one felt out of place.
Our food and beverage selections are also designed with inclusivity in mind. We make sure to cover everyone’s allergies and dietary restrictions, so that no guest leaves hungry. We prefer to work with local restaurants and catering companies, to support our community. 4S Bay always aims to encourage growth and innovation for those around us, this ensures that we are staying true to our values.
Sustainability
One main issue that the events industry struggles with is implementing sustainable practices. Often, single-use items such as disposable dishes, decorations, and invitations are more readily accessible and affordable compared to reusable, eco-friendly alternatives. Event planners must find a balance between staying on budget and investing in sustainability.
We always strive to minimize waste and lessen the footprint we have on the environment, being intentional in our event design is key. For example, party favors and décor are chosen with these points in mind:
- Is the product locally sourced and/or made with sustainable materials?
- Is this something that attendees will be able to use in their daily life, or will it be clutter?
- Can we order minimal quantities so that there is not a large excess of stock?
- Can this be used again for another event in the future?
In doing so, we are not only prioritizing our sustainability goals but also making sure that our events are tailored to suit the needs of the attendees.
Intentional Planning

An event that is enjoyable, sustainable, and inclusive requires an intentional mindset. For every choice, we look at the bigger picture to see what purpose it will serve. What do we want people to feel and experience at the event? What elements make an event memorable, and which are not a priority?
Events at 4S Bay are an opportunity for everyone to get to know each other. It strengthens the sense of community and improves workplace culture. All departments work closely with each other, so being comfortable as a team makes it easier to create impact. We keep this in mind when building out events and keep that intention at the forefront of decision making.
Overall, team events are an exciting and entertaining opportunity to connect with others. An outing might just last a few hours, but the event planning takes months of preparation to ensure that everything runs smoothly, our values are present and people leave with lasting memories.
