Our managing Partner, Jessica Sarowitz, knows firsthand the transformative power of education. As a first-generation college graduate, she and her family experienced how a degree can change the trajectory of a life. Now, as a philanthropic leader and social impact investor, Jessica dedicates her time, talent, and resources to advancing educational access and opportunity for young people across the U.S. and abroad.

Jessica partners with organizations that deliver meaningful outcomes for students of all ages, with the hope that every student, regardless of circumstance, can pursue higher education and achieve their goals. 4S Bay Partners views education as one of the most powerful investments we can make to address the social and economic inequities that persist in our society.

Education is often called the great equalizer, but not all students begin with the same access or stability. At 4S Bay Partners, we believe that investing in students holistically- ensuring they have the support and resources to thrive- transforms not only individual lives but our communities as a whole. We proudly support several innovative programs that provide critical resources to college students facing barriers to success. Two valued partners include:

Depaul USA’s Dax Program: Founded in 2015, the Dax Program supports college students experiencing housing insecurity or homelessness. Dax helps students achieve the stability needed to focus on their studies by providing housing, case management, and financial assistance. 4S Bay has played an active role in developing Dax housing units in Chicago and Philadelphia through both private investment and philanthropy. Today, Depaul USA operates Dax programs in partnership with universities in Chicago, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and New York. Visit Depaul USA’s website to learn more.

San Diego State University’s Guardian Scholars Program (GS): The GS Program offers a comprehensive support network for students who identify as current or former foster youth, wards of the court, under legal guardianship, or unaccompanied homeless youth. Through tutoring, mentoring, summer programs, and academic counseling, Guardian Scholars builds a community that empowers students to succeed. In recognition of Jessica’s generosity and long-term commitment, SDSU recently renamed its center The Jessica P. Sarowitz Center for Guardian Scholars.
